About Leanne McKend
My work as an artist reflects a personal fascination I’ve had with nature as far back as I can remember. Born in 1982 and having grown up in St. Monans, in the East Neuk of Fife, this love of nature instinctively drew me to the shoreline. As a child I spent many days playing along the beaches, exploring and discovering. Over the years the natural progression from childhood adventure entwined with my creative ability. The coast lines became somewhere to discover textures, patterns and colours the likes of which are endless.
After Graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art and design in 2005 I established a studio workshop at Monturpie farm Upper Largo, from which I developed skills as a textile artist. In 2008 I started a picture framing business from my studio where I currently work from. I enjoy both aspects of work and I hope to expand and develop my business in the near future.

- Textile Design, Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art and Design 2001-2005
- Set- up art studio, Monturpie Farm Guest House 2005
- Undertaken a number of private commissions
- Exhibited Fisheries Museum Antruther, Tollcross Gallery Pittenweem, Ceres Gallery. Annual participant in Pittenweem Arts Festival (previously won most promising artist award.)
- Employed Tollcross Picture Framing Studio 2007
- Workshops in felting, paper making and framing.
- Started ‘Leanne McKend Picture Framing Service’ 2008
- Work is shown all year round at Monturpie Coffee Lounge, Upper Largo.
