Here is a collection of my work currently for sale.
I consider my pieces to be a personal insight into the form and pattern of the subject. I like to photograph and collect items of interest, whether it is a snapshot of shells embedded in the sand, or a piece of clothing discarded and left to the elements. But it is the textural qualities of the subject that I can explore endlessly through constructed textile mediums such as felting and paper-making.
I am often inspired by the form and pattern of shells, stones, seaweed and sand, and have related this into my latest textile work. The qualities of layering, stitching and the use of beads, buttons and shells as representative of the ‘precious’ jewel like appearance the shoreline can have.
My felt pieces are achieved through mixing wool and silk fibres. I like to create a depth of colour and texture to enhance the organic appearance of the piece and by stitching and embroidering onto the felt it is possible to create some fantastic qualities.
Although I specialise in textile art I like to use and experiment with a variety of mediums and techniques. I hope you enjoy my collection and please note that new work and exhibitions will be added to my website in the future.
